I’ve known Nancy’s family ever since I was a little kid. I was graduating high school when she was a squeaky-voiced little bundle of energy.
Nancy is not only an absolute sweetheart, but she is also funny, kind and totally laid-back. Working with her was so much fun. It really didn’t feel like work at all, but rather a reunion of sorts as we chatted about what our families had been up to during one of my recent visits to the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. The photo session at The Inn at Mountain View Farm in Lyndon, Vermont, was all play and I just love everything we captured during her incredible shoot.
Nancy’s shoot was all about capturing the country chic vibes she so effortlessly emanates—sitting with her dog, lounging in a truck, rolling in the grass, her gorgeous brown hair blowing in the wind kind of awesomeness! Of course, shooting in the country hills of my old hometown in Vermont makes it easy. Big red barns, rolling hills, tall grass, rustic stone walls… there is beauty at every turn just begging to be photographed.
Nancy is a rare combination of class and country. She looks like she belongs on stage at the Grand Ole Opry or in a classic western out-shining the likes of Grace Kelly. I love seeing her travel adventures on Facebook and am already jealous of the chap who gets to photograph her wedding someday… OH WAIT! That’s me!
Because I now live 5,000 miles away and only make it back to Vermont maybe once a year, I figured when Nancy got around to getting married I’d be
soaking up the sun getting burned by the sun in Maui. Imagine my delight when I got the following message from Nancy in January!
Hello Jake!!!! I have a question…. you gonna be around VT in September say around the 26th?!!!
I am beyond thrilled that I was able to arrange my schedule this fall to go back to the highlands of Vermont to photograph Nancy’s wedding. I know it’s going to rock because she rocks!
Nancy, I can’t thank you enough for bringing your A-game to the photo sessions we’ve done in the past. You’re the best!
Congratulations, Nancy! We’ll see you soon!
